JP Mumaw

JP brings nearly 30 years of hands-on experience and leadership to the Premium Plumbing team, with a career that began in 1996. He started out in underground and residential plumbing before finding his passion in the commercial sector, officially becoming a licensed plumber in 2001. Throughout his career, JP has contributed to major projects across Florida, including the VA North Pinellas and PM International Americas HQ, working on everything from basic installs to x-ray welding turbine engine chiller lines.

A U.S. Army National Guard veteran, JP served six years in an engineering unit as a 21K (Plumber). During his service, he graduated with honors from boot camp, was part of the State Honor Guard, and competed as a two-time member of the Delaware National Guard’s State Shooting Team. His military background continues to shape his leadership style—emphasizing clear communication, teamwork, and a commitment to getting things right the first time.

In 2021, JP transitioned into his role as Project Manager at Premium Plumbing, where he oversees project execution from planning to completion. His responsibilities include coordinating project details with onsite crews, managing budgets, troubleshooting issues, and developing efficient internal processes. For JP, the most rewarding part of his role is seeing a well-laid plan come together and knowing that every team member is aligned and supported.

JP completed a four-year plumbing apprenticeship in Delaware through a state-affiliated program and worked an additional 2,000 hours to earn his journeyman’s card—a lifetime credential. He also holds a wide range of active certifications, including licenses to operate excavators, lulls, backhoes, forklifts, mini cranes, and well points, along with specialized credentials like Rinnai water heater tech and CPR training. His extensive training—much of it developed during his time as a field superintendent—reflects his broad skill set and deep commitment to the trade.

Based in Homosassa, Florida, JP enjoys life on his growing mini farm with his wife of 22 years. Their farm is currently home to 30 chickens, with plans for goats and a miniature cow in the works, thanks to his daughter’s ambitions. Outside of work, JP’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, gardening, and laser engraving.

What JP values most about Premium Plumbing is its family-style culture and the pride every team member takes in their work. “When you take pride in what you do, it shows in your work—and I feel like that plays a huge role in our success on job sites.” With over 100 years of combined field experience among the management team, Premium Plumbing stands out in the commercial space for its professionalism, speed, and commitment to quality.
